Wine Characteristics
After alcoholic fermentation in steel containers at controlled temperatures, the wine is aged in wood for at least 12 months. Different formats of wood are used in order to maintain a balance between the fruity hints of grapes and the spicy ones that are typical of the contact between wood and wine.
Wine with an intense ruby red color with purple reflections, elegant and persistent perfume, hints of tobacco and leather are delicately combined with hints of black cherry. On the palate it is dry, full, harmonious; expresses a marked tendency towards maturity and shows its decisive character after a few years.
It pleasantly accompanies all the rich and tasty dishes of white and red meats, pasta and risotto, well-aged cheeses. Suggested serving temperature is 18°-20°C (64°-68° F) uncorking preferably at least 2 hours before serving.
